The Fundamental Tools to Surviving if you are a Born Empath
Do you see the world differently to other people?
Do you absorb and feel other people’s emotions and take them on as your own?
Are you constantly being told you are too sensitive?
Then it is quite possible you are a born empath.
Spiritually an empath describes an individual with special psychic and empathic abilities that can sense the emotions and feelings of others. Many empaths have agreed to incarnate at this challenging time on earth to assist humanity with awakening.
Being born an empath can be seen as a gift but to these highly sensitive people it can feel downright challenging especially if you do not know how to deal with the intense energies.
It is vitally important that proper protection is practiced for empathic Souls to maintain their physical and psychological wellness.
An Empath myself I can fully understand how affected you can be by your immediate environment, easily overstimulated by extra sensory input, certain people, sounds, bright lights and overwhelming crowds can leave you with waves of emotions.
These stressful emotions can leave empaths feeling drained, depleted, sad, depressed, angry and vulnerable.
Empaths like a sponge unintentionally soaks up the feelings and physical symptoms of others leaving them emotionally and physically exhausted not knowing why.
Filtering the world through your intuition you may have difficulty intellectualising your feelings as you absorb the pain and stress of people and situations around you.
Empathic souls are born with hyper-responsive mirror neurons in the brain (enabling empaths to filter others emotions intuitively
through their own) that are triggered by outside energies, exposing them to unexpected health issues like aches and pains, constant worrying, chronic fatigue and even affecting their nervous system.
As empaths are deeply sensitive they can be easily hurt and touched causing them to retreat and withdraw from the realism of the world, often seen helping and nurturing others,
even at their own expense, empaths have a big heart and soul and love helping others, they will go that extra mile to support and care for others even close relationships can often leave them overwhelmed if not enough space is provided.
Learning self-care for overall health is essential for the sensitive energy of an empath so instead of becoming overwhelmed by your extra sensory intuition you can use your unique empathy to bring compassion, healing and awareness to the world.
Your empathic abilities are wonderful psychic gifts that can be applied, enhanced and even advanced over time if we learn to use it wisely.
Here are some simple effective steps you can implement in your life to help you survive if you are a born empath-
Meditation
Learning mindfulness and breathing is crucial along with
a daily meditative practice will help you remain centred and get in touch with
your inner self by allowing this withdrawal will help you distinguish which
emotions are yours or that of others and gain self-awareness.
Creativity
From singing, dancing, painting, writing and drawing
empaths are very creative so expressing and directing your creativity can have
rewarding and fulfilling results. Constantly looking for new ways to express
yourself helps you thrive, energise and uplift your energy.
Limit Social Media and Technology
Technology and too much time socializing on media
platforms can be detrimental to an empath, negatively affecting their moods and
emotional state it can affect how they feel and behave so it is especially
important to limit the time you spend on technological outlets. Feeling
everything, often extremely you can prevent an overload of energy by
remembering to get ‘in touch’ more with your inner most feelings, take short
breaks to rest, ground and balance your energies, and by securing a boundary
will insure a healthy and emotional mindset for empaths.
Relaxation
Relaxing and recharging your energies with the healing
techniques of yoga, Tai Chi or swimming can all help to relax and release
emotional stress, cleansing any negative energies and helping you to stay
balanced. A soaking warm bath of Epsom salt can bring amazing healing results
along with music, flower essence and aromatherapy oils.
Boundaries
As you can be deeply affected by your environment it is
especially important to take extra care to avoid people or places that leave
you feeling bad, angry or depressed. Practicing and maintaining healthy boundaries
is vital for your protection and by setting clear limits and energetic boundaries,
you can stay centred and in control, try to refrain from lower energies as much
as possible and try to lead a lifestyle that surrounds you with positive and
uplifting energies helping to raise your vibration.
Nature
Empaths are practically drawn to nature as the elements
of air, earth, fire and water all help to balance and replenish your energies. Having
a deep spiritual connection with the natural earth the wonders of wildlife can
assist in uplifting and cleansing your energies. Spending time outdoors helps
ground and nurture your energy, listening to the sounds of birds, taking in the
scent of eucalyptus whilst walking in the bush, cleansing in the ocean or relaxing
by a lake all have healing and recharging benefits.
Alone time
Creating personal and emotional space provides healing
and upliftment for your soul, by getting into the habit of time alone to
restore your energy and emotions is essential for self-love, empaths require more
alone time than most, highly in tuned empaths need distance from certain
noises, smells and or excessive chatting as their nerves can be severely
affected, so spending time to reconnect with yourself is vital.
Try not to fix everyone
It’s ok to say no!
Often magnets to the emotionally needy you may be often
targeted to help fix or listen to everyone’s problems. Having a great deal of
empathy, often to the point of taking on the pain of others at your own expense,
you hate seeing others suffer but try to refrain from saving your friends and
family as not only is it important for their growth to learn personal
responsibility but vitally important for you and your Soul wellness.
Limit negative transference
You have the power to allow others energies to transfer
by remembering to cleanse and protect your auric field using shielded light visualisation,
cut cords from negative energy and
thoughts, balance Chakras and protect your aura, smudging yourself and your
personal space when feeling extra down can also be affective in transmuting bad
energy. The use of crystals and stones can also be a valuable tools in
assisting with shielding and restoring your energy.
Empaths are having a particularly difficult time with the
earths intense energies at present so these fundamental steps are just some of
my suggestions to help you stay grounded, centred and balanced but ultimately
find what works for you, try experimenting with different techniques and embrace,
manage and even learn to work with this unique spiritual gift.
